Amanda volunteering in South Africa with Rhinos.

Amanda was born in Indonesia to an American father and an Italian mother. She has lived in many places in the world including Sweden, Italy, and New Zealand. Through her writing, Amanda explores our humanity and our relationship to other animal species.

She is currently working on a book about her journey to become a passionate wildlife conservation volunteer. She started out caring for and learning about squirrels and ended up in the Arctic with polar bears. She has also worked with abused elephants in Thailand, sloths in Costa Rica and rhinos in South Africa.

Amanda's day job is as a Design Director in the Healthcare Industry. She has four grown children and lives in the Puget Sound area with her husband and beloved dog, Luna.
